Hello everyone! I hope that everyone enjoyed last week presentation! I was afraid of presenting I had a stomachache and butterflies in my tummy. Nonetheless I enjoyed sharing the knowledge with all my classmates. I lost my fear and all my nervousness. Everyone did a great job at presenting, and I loved the conference of everyone especially my group! we did GREAT! and I am not saying that because it was my group, but we overall we did good. Thus, apart from my stomachaches and butterflies I had a great time. I liked this project because I learned a lot about coping with public speaking and not being afraid if you just be yourself, you will do good. Public speaking can be nerve recking but if you can just prepare yourself mentally and physically you will not be afraid. With this project I learned a plethora of things on how to cope with the anxiety of speaking in front of an audience, how to not be afraid of just being you and not Sutter, believe it or not that’s one of the worse things in public speaking apart from sweaty palms. Many people get a nervous breakdown so that results in sweaty palms, stuttering, sweating, nervous, etc. Chapters 1-10 were very good in explaining all the materials that we need for public speaking and becoming a great presenter. I was in group one I had chapter one and my presentation was about plagiarism, and anxiety. Plagiarism is a very big deal because you are committing a crime in writing you are stealing someone’s else words or ideas and making them yours when they are not. The definition of plagiarism is “the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own” you see how I used “” to write about the definition because when you use quotation marks or any other signal you are showing the other person that that work is not yours and you are using someone’s else writing. For example, you are writing a paper on a book any book even a newspaper you can use the quotation marks and or write page 250 reference to whatever is it that you are writing about that shows the reader that you did not plagiarism the words that you are writing it, but you are not stealing it. Stealing worlds or ideas is illegal and you can get in big trouble by doing that. So please remember to double check your works and even triple check it because if you are taking someone’s else words and you won’t even know about.  I also spoke about how to cope with anxiety during presentations and how that is the number one cost of why students do not want to present put loud in class. I was not born here I was born in Cuba and came when I was 5 years old, I had an accident up until middle school I was always afraid of presenting in front of a crowd because I was scared that everyone would make fun of me due to my accent, after a while I started to not speak a lot in fear. My anxiety went away after I got the hang of speaking English. So, anxiety can be your worse enemy when it comes to public speaking. Just BREATH and you will be fine, also practicing helps a ton because you know what they say practicing makes it perfect the more you practice the better you will get and the more you lose your fear of speaking in front of people. The one thing that I found interesting to me was the fact that everyone things that Wikipedia is a good source for information but no in reality is not manmade, anyone can do an account and create content, do not ever think that the information that you are getting from there is a valid one. Do not believe everything that they put on the internet because is not true. Everything on the internet is all nice and sweet but, is not to make everything seem all chipper and nice so please do not use sources that are not verified. In conclusion I feel like this class is going to help me over come my fears of public speaking because with the power point and all the information that was given to us was extremely helpful. I believe that is helpful in our future and for further use because it will help us in our careers. I am studying to be a nurse so imagine me being afraid to talk to a patient  or a doctor I can not be afraid or have chicken legs I have to know what I am saying because is a persons life at risk. I have to be sure of what I am doing and what I am saying thats why I believe this class will be good to me and my classmates. That way we are prepared in life for speaking. I must be sure of what I am doing and what I am saying thats why I believe this class will be good to me and my classmates. That way we are all prepared in life for speaking. I myself was nervous about this class and having to be in groups because I am not very good in groups because I am shy. Furthermore, I believe everyone will benefit from public speaking and have the courage to speak without have chicken legs, sweaty palms, or anxiety.
