Hello blog, this is my opinions on all of the presentations and information that I learned, this project was very insightful, it forced me out of my comfort zone and was also very scary, right before presenting my palms were so sweaty and I was so nervous to present I’ve never liked presenting and honestly, I always found a way to get out of presenting, but presenting is a useful life skill that I have to learn. using pictures and few words really had me feeling unprepared and I’ve always been used to just reading off of my slide so that was very nerve racking but my notes helped so much, I divided everything I was going to say for each slide just in case my mind went blank If it weren’t for the note’s app, I wouldn’t have felt secure to present, I’ve always been a bad and nervous presenter but this time it wasn’t bad at all. My group was number one, and my part was on the common types of first presentations and I learned how to present myself, and others, I also learned about demonstration presentations and about impromptu presentations. The book had great tips on how to do each type of presentation and it helped me learn so much and feel more confident when presenting. In my opinion, I think group one did the best I really enjoyed everyone’s presentation they sounded prepared and confident, their energies weren’t off, and their presentations didn’t sound boring, I enjoyed working with my group on this presentation, everyone did their part, and everyone was very open and honest with each other especially when talking about how anxious they were for the presentation.
I must say that the presentation on selecting and organizing content given by the second group was quite informative. They shared a vast array of tips and tricks, including efficient ways to locate resources and conduct research on the internet. I have learned to sift through vast amounts of data, critically evaluate sources, and select the most compelling and relevant content to support my arguments. I found their insights to be highly useful and beneficial, especially for someone like me who is always looking to improve my information gathering skills. Moving on, the third group's presentation was equally impressive as they provided valuable advice on how to deliver presentations, communicate ideas effectively, and project confidence in high-pressure situations. Their insights were truly valuable, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from them
All the presentations were outstanding, with speakers displaying great command and clarity. The level of preparation and attention to detail was impressive. I found them to be incredibly enlightening and informative. Each group's presentation was unique and offered a distinct perspective on the topic at hand. As a result, I was able to learn a lot about how to improve my own presentations and how to prepare more effectively for future presentations. Prior to this, presenting was something that I struggled with, but now I feel that I am much better equipped to handle it. It was clear that every group had put a lot of effort and thought into their presentations. Although some of the presentations may have seemed repetitive, I didn't mind because I understood that everyone was nervous, and it was their first time presenting in a class where they didn't know anyone. I was particularly impressed by the use of videos and short clips in some of the presentations, as it added an element of engagement and made the presentations more interesting. Furthermore, all the PowerPoints were well-organized and visually appealing. The use of pictures instead of words made a significant difference in keeping the presentations concise and engaging.
In order to enhance my delivery skills, I have devised a plan to address certain areas. Firstly, I aim to steer clear of repetition during my speech. Secondly, I shall make a conscious effort to maintain consistent eye contact with my audience, as this will enable me to establish a better rapport with them. Furthermore, I shall strive to engage with my audience more effectively and avoid the common mistake of rushing through my presentation. Drawing on my peers presentations, I have garnered some invaluable insights that will enable me to slow down and fine-tune my performance. As a speaker, I am cognizant of the fact that there is always room for improvement, and I am eager to learn and develop.
I found that the PowerPoint presentation we were tasked with creating in relation to our book proved to be an incredibly valuable experience. It introduced a fresh and innovative approach to learning, while affording each of us the opportunity to hone our presentation skills. Hearing my peers' diverse perspectives on the material allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the book's chapters than I would have been able to achieve through independent reading. It was truly refreshing to learn and gain insight from fellow students, especially given that professors can often have difficulties communicating complex concepts in a straightforward or easily understood manner. While I acknowledge that there is room for improvement in my own presentation skills, I remain optimistic that this class will prove instrumental in helping me to overcome my fear of public speaking. I plan to utilize the various presentation formats and tips suggested by my classmates in an effort to alleviate my anxiety and improve my overall confidence in presenting and public speaking.
To sum up, I must say that the project we undertook proved to be extremely beneficial for every member of our class. It not only allowed us to forge meaningful new relationships but also enriched our understanding of various concepts and perspectives. Moreover, the project offered us a plethora of practical and useful pointers on how to refine our presentation abilities and elevate our overall confidence in public speaking situations. Overall, it was a truly valuable experience that we will all cherish for a long time to come.
Very good reflection. I am glad you liked learning this way.
